The Stephen Foster Memorial, dedicated in 1937, is one of two buildings designed by Charles Klauder to accompany his centerpiece Cathedral of Learning on the gothic revival portion of the University of Pittsburgh’s campus. On the lower level of the building The Henry Heymann Theatre–an intimate 153-seat theatre with a thrust stage. The Heymann will host the majority of PCF events including the 2 mainstage performances Friday and Saturday night.
Convenient, paid parking is available in three surrounding lots:
- Soldiers and Sailors Parking Garage* – $5 (after 4 p.m. M-F or day rate Saturday and Sunday)
- The Carnegie Museum Parking Lot – $5 (for 2-5 hours M-F or day rate on Saturday and Sunday)
- Dithridge Garage at Henry Street – $5 (after 5 p.m. M-F or day rate on Saturday and Sunday)
Street parking is also available. Meters are enforced until 6pm Monday through Saturday. Street parking is free on Sundays.
*Rates may vary during special events held at Soldiers and Sailors Hall.

The Stephen Foster Building, which houses the two theatres, is an historic landmark and has been retro-fitted for wheel chair accessibility. The sidewalk/wheelchair entrance is located on Bigelow Boulevard near the intersection of Forbes Avenue. There is a walking path from Bigelow Boulevard to the side entrance of the building. A phone kiosk is located just outside the side entrance of the building. Please use the call box or dial 412-624-0197 from your cell phone for assistance.
Please plan to arrive at the theatre approximately 20 minutes or more before the curtain time to allow the Stephen Foster Memorial House Management Staff adequate time to assist you to your seat.
