FAQ

You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers!

The most must-know info about Pittsburgh Comedy Festival is right here for your convenience! Be even more of an insider by following us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

This festival sounds so cool! When is it again?

Like, right now! #PCF17 runs from Wednesday, August 23 through Sunday, August 27.

Where is it? (Other than Pittsburgh, duh.)

PCF happens on the University of Pittsburgh campus in the Henry Heymann Theater (it’s inside the Stephen Foster Memorial). The Heymann is an intimate, comfortable space for comedians and comedy lovers to meet, gather, and mingle. Plus, it’s located splat in the middle of all the museums, restaurants, and parks that make up Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood. Get all the details here.

Are my tickets general admission, or are there assigned seats?

General admission all the way! Especially for headliner shows, be sure to get to the theater early to nab a great seat.

How do you decide the lineup?

PCF is a mix of national booked acts and acts we choose through juried submissions. The result is a hilarious sampling of the exciting things going on in comedy scenes large and small.

Awesome! Who chooses which submissions get in?

Submissions are juried by a small, anonymous panel of experts familiar with the artistic vision of the Pittsburgh Comedy Festival. We’re very thoughtful about who we put on the panel — we take care to find people with different backgrounds and points of view. Our panel consists of:

  • PCF staff members and non-staff members
  • Comedians and non-performing comedy fans
  • Pittsburgh performers and out-of-town performers familiar with the Pittsburgh scene
