Web Director

Are you looking for a passion project to learn new technologies or contribute your technical expertise to support Pittsburgh’s thriving comedy scene? We are looking for a Web Director who will lead a small team responsible for our Web presence including the website, submissions, buying passes, registering for workshops and so forth.

Each of our Directors has a large degree of freedom over their area, and they are not expected to do all the work themselves (you’d assemble your team with help from the Executive Committee). You are then ultimately responsible for the activities of the team–you’d work closely with the Executive Committee and other Directors (marketing, design, programming) to understand their needs and deliver results.

Our site currently runs on WordPress hosted on Google Compute Engine.

This is a volunteer position on an all-volunteer staff. All staff members get access to all festival performances (that are not sold out), a PCF t-shirt, meals during the festival, access to festival parties, and the chance to help build the comedy community in Pittsburgh.

Are you looking for an opportunity to showcase your work on a visible project and work with talented local designers? In 2014, our Media Partner Mullen won a Pittsburgh Addy for the work they did to promote the festival, and we are excited to see what creative work comes out of this year’s team!

The Pittsburgh Comedy Festival (PCF) is looking for an enthusiastic graphic designer to work alongside a small team of professional designers for this year’s festival (happening August 27-30). Must be proficient in Adobe suite software with a primary focus on Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign. Flash and After Effects experience is a bonus. Must be able to take direction, but not afraid to add some personal expression to the work. Project requires the ability to process and build on constructive criticism. Work will primarily focus on building and expanding an established, yet evolving PCF brand. We will work with your availability during the school year and summer: current projection is roughly 2-5 hours per week, more as the event approaches. Designer would coordinate digitally with a team leader. This is a volunteer position (as is the rest of the PCF staff).
